May 18-23
Hello friends and fellow bloggers! I'm so excited to be one of the 150 blogs participating in this supercute Giveaway Hop. (and my first one, by-the-way--so be kind!)
**Love in Bloom**
I volunteered at the very lovely "I'm a Reader, Not a Writer" --which I completely adore! (Check it out when you have a moe.)
Just by participating (see how below), your name is magically thrown in my cyber-hat to win one of these three giveaways of reading deliciousness. Easy-peezy, yeah?
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray
Austenland by Shannon Hale
Personally, I think any reader-of-loveliness should have all of these in their library.
How to enter:
Well since Jane Eyre is my absolute favorite book I would have to say it's that famous line: "Reader, I married him." omg gets me every time!
ReplyDeleteFavorite seen is with Elizabeth and Darcy at the very end of P & P

Semi book related swoon scene in the BBC version of "Pide and Prejudice" with Mr. Darcy coming out of the water
ReplyDeleteSo many swoon Scenes! Man off the Austen-Bronte track I'd have to go with the kissy scenes for Gabi and Marcello in the River of Time series! All so good I can't pick. Lia and Luca also have a great one. (same series)
ReplyDeleteI swoon with Colin Firth, in P&P when he exits the water, in Bridget Jones in the snow and that moment at the bottom of the stairs - I like you just as you are
ReplyDeleteMy first swoon was Gone With The Wind, "This is one night you won't be thinking of the Dear Mr Ashley" *sigh*

My favorite swoony scene is probably the one from The Notebook when Noah and Allie get back from their romantic row on the lake, after they get caught in a downpour. *blushes* Yeah, kind of naughty of me to say that's my favorite, but it was the first thing that came to mind. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! BTW- your blog is lovely. =)

ReplyDeleteleanniegehrke at hotmail dot com
GFC follower- Jaime Lynn. I have two scenes that I love. (Actually, probably more like 2000 or so, but I will stick with 2- a movie and a book.) The first is the end of Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris< I don't want to give it away, so you HAVE to read this amazing book! I also love how she says she wants to be proposed to and how he tells her he loves her. Wow, just wow! Okay, the movie is the end of Juno. Well, the whole dang movie is my favorite. But them sitting at the end of the sidewalk across from each other playing their guitars, after everything they have been through, touched my heart!

Okay, I'm not big on romances. I'm a mean little woman, and sweet scenes usually work as well as Syrup of Ipecac for me. HOWEVER! When I read Grave Mercy, the part where Duval sees Ismae's scars and then when she is caring for him... *swoons* But shhhhh! Don't tell anybody. ;-)

Chitownchica is a GFC follower and my favorite scene is hands down, Elizabeth and Darcy in the rain!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scene in a novel happens to be from Pride & Prejudice, when Mr. Darcy proposes to Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite scene from a movie happens to be, again, from Pride & Prejudice (the one with Kiera Knightley) at the very end, even though I love the scene in the rain because it has such sizzling chemistry, when Darcy asks Lizzie,
Mr. Darcy: What endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth Bennet: Well let me think..."Lizzie" for every day, "My Pearl" for Sundays, and..."Goddess Divine"... but only on *very* special occasions.
Mr. Darcy: And... what should I call you when I am cross? Mrs. Darcy...?
Elizabeth Bennet: No! No. You may only call me "Mrs. Darcy"... when you are completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.
Mr. Darcy: [he snickers] Then how are you this evening... Mrs. Darcy?
I think it's such a sweet display of a sweet, unselfish love! :D
Thank you for your generosity, and for participating in this blog hop!

So many choices! But since you're not going to judge *smirk*... I can't think swoony romance without thinking of that scene in "Ghost" where Swayze's character pushes the penny up the side of the wall. Oh. My. Gosh. Insta-tears every single time.
