E is for Eureka

I was born in Eureka.
Wasn't I lucky to be born in such a beautiful place?

(PS: I'll be there in 13 days. Be jealous, be very jealous.)

Some noteworthy Eurekans...

Sara Bareilles - rocker chick
Brendan Fraser - ex-Tarzan, bomb shelter resident, unfrozen-caveman, eternal hipster dufus.
Lloyd Bridges - He picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.
Mike Patton - "Mr. Bungle"
Ophelia London  - A joker, a smoker, a midnight toker....gets lovin' on the run.

  4. Gorgeous post!

We live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, which means small towns, snow in the winters, epic trees, and eclectic culture. I wasn't born here but I'm so happy to say that my children are being raised here.

    Your blog is lovely!

    1. Thanks! It was fun to look for pictures of spots of E that I love. At the time, I didn't love coming from such a small down, but now I realize how lucky my family was. Now that I've moved away, I love going back for visits!

Can't wait to hop by your blog!

  5. What a gorgeous location. It's funny, but whenever I hear Eureka, I think of the town in the ScyFy channel show Eureka.

    1. Haha. That's funny. What was that show about, anyway? Probably not about residence of a sleepy fishing town, right? Thanks so much for hopping by!

  6. It does look like a beautiful place! I moved to the Pacific Northwest (Washington) from the Midwest (Minnesota) and I'm still in love with the beauty here on the west coast.

    Nice pictures!

  7. Hey girl. Did you watch the vid of Sara? Why can't we be her BFF? ;) (And, amen re: the cost of living. For now, I'll have to settle for living in TX and visiting Cali a couple times a year.)
